Ngawang Kyizom

Ngawang Kyizom is twenty-eight years old. She was born in Hing-ri in the central part of Tibet. She has been helping with the family work since she was young. During the summer, she took the sheep and goats to the mountains to graze. During the winter, she helps her parents at home. She has always wanted to be a nun, but her parents kept her home to work. Finally, she told her parents that if she could not become a nun she would run away from home. At the age of twenty-three her parents let her become a nun at the village nunnery. After some time she was asked by her parents to come back home. She stayed at her home for another two years. At last, she came to Nepal and joined the Turquoise Leaf Nunnery. She has always wanted to become a good Dharma practitioner and is studying hard at the nunnery to fulfill her dreams.
