Gonpo is twenty-six years old. He was born in Kham Doshul. He lived in the Domo Gon Monastery in his native land where he took monk vows from Kathok Khenpo Ajam. Three years ago, he crossed the Himalayas and escaped to exile. Since then he has resided at Tulku Sang-ngag's retreat center. He was a Choepon at the retreat and is now ready for the three year retreat. He has recently been appointed the new manager of the retreat center.
